Athens Historic Commission
The Historic Commission is responsible for governing the preservation of buildings located in districts designated as historicaly significant
Duties of the Historic Commission are to review applications to alter or remodel historic structures within the City of Athens and to advice residents of historical guidelines.
The Historic Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month.
Note: The Commission is currently soliciting the public for constructive comments on the new ordinance at their monthly meetings. The Commission will review comments and recommend to the City Council appropriate revisions to the ordinance in July.
