How do I apply for employment with the City of Athens?
The City of Athens accepts applications for police and fire in 30 day intervals regardless of vacancy status. For all other positions, the city accepts applications only for the jobs that are currently vacant and posted. To apply, you may download an application from the city’s website and bring it to Human Resources or you may pick up an application at:

The original signed application must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on the closing date as stated in the job opening announcement. Your application will need to be notarized before submission. We have several notaries available at City Hall. You may apply for more than 1 posted position on the same application as long as you submit it by the closing date for each.
