Sports Facility Rentals

In order to rent a ballfield you must come by the Athens Rec. Center and fill out a rental form and pay the approriate fees. Reservations must be made Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00

Ballfield reservations (baseball, softball, soccer) must be reserved fourteen (14) days in advance and approved by Director of Parks and Recreation. The city reserves concession rights at all facilities. The following facilities are available for rent by the public:

• Cowart ball fields
• Sportsplex ball fields

A $300.00 refundable deposit will be required up front for all ball fields. Deposits will be refunded after inspection by Parks & Recreation staff. Rental fees are as follows:
• Weekday rates: $150 per field lighted and marked
• Tournament rate: $75 per field light and marked, plus the 10% on entry fees (a minimum of 6 teams and 2 fields)

The Wavaho fields must be reserved but there are no rental fees. If lights are needed then there will be a $10 an hour fee for using the lights.

Rental Refunds (less $5.00) will be issued if reservations are canceled at least 48 hours prior to scheduled time. Damage deposit refund of 50% will be issued if reservations are canceled at least 48 hours prior to schedule time. No refund will be given without 48-hour notice unless inclement weather prohibits the use of the facility.

Anyone caught breaking the rules will be asked to leave the park. The City of Athens will not be held responsible for accidents, lost, or stolen property.
