The Municipal Court is responsible for all aspects of the City Court System, including information concerning amount of fines, court dates, cash bonds, issuance of warrants, disposition of cases, court referral services and other related court matters.
Court Referral Services are provided by the State of Alabama through the Court System. Fines, restitution, and cash bonds must be paid to the Municipal Court. Information concerning payment methods and instructions, court dates, and requirements for court appearance are provided on the Uniform Traffic Citation (UTC) issued by the police officers. A schedule of fines and court costs is available upon requests.
Persons wishing to obtain a warrant for a misdemeanor, an incident occuring within the City, or violations of a City ordinance will be assisted by the Municipal Court Clerk/Magistrate. Felony warrants must be issued by the Circuit Court Clerk at the Limestone County Courthouse.
